Top tips
- Build a solid inverted D hold before attempting.
- Warm up your shoulders and lats thoroughly; the supporting bottom arm needs to work hard to support you.
- Warm up your back flexibility well — it will help controlling the shoulders
- Keep your core engaged to stop the hips from dropping and to protect the lower back.
- Learn it over a crash mat, coming in and out of the shape slowly with a spotter until the position feels familiar.
